Strawberry Freezer Jam

One of my favorite recipes made by my grandmother each summer.

2 cups of mashed strawberries
4 cups sugar
3/4 cup cold water
1 box Sure-Jell
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Combine berries, lemon juice and sugar in a large bowl. Mix well and let stand 10 minutes.

Combine cold water ans Sure-Jell in a large cooking pot. Stirring constantly, bring water and Sure-Jell to a full boil. Boil exactly one minute. Remove from heat. Stir in berry/sugar mixture. Stir constantly for three minutes. Pour into sterilized jelly jars, filling within 1/2 inch of top. Put on lids. Let stand at room temperature for 24 hours. Store upright in freezer. Makes 5 to 6 one-cup jars of jam.
