Hawaiian Bros Supports Authentic Hawaiian Culture and Education With 2025 Keiki Hula Fundraiser

KANSAS CITY, Mo (July 14, 2025) – Hawaiian Bros is honored to help sustain the rich cultural tradition of hula by supporting the Kalihi-Pālama Culture & Arts Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the art of hula, the Hawaiian language and ancient traditions. From July 14 through August 17, 2025, all Hawaiian Bros locations nationwide will invite guests to join in raising $25,000 to fund dance education and cultural programs that nurture the next generation of hula practitioners.

The Queen Liliʻuokalani Keiki Hula Competition is the largest and longest running children’s hula event in the world. Throughout the fundraising period, guests can easily contribute by rounding up their purchase or adding a flat-dollar donation at checkout. Donations can be made when ordering in-store, through the drive-thru, at self-service kiosks, or online via the Hawaiian Bros website. Every dollar raised goes directly to Keiki Hula to help provide resources, classes, and opportunities for children to learn and carry forward this treasured tradition.

“This year marks the 50th Anniversary of our organization’s commitment to our community and culture,” says Guy Murashige Sibilla, Kalihi-Pālama’s Executive Director. “Since 1976 we have provided education and training for an estimated 25,000+ children, many of whom are now the Kumu Hula (“Hawaiian Knowledge Keepers”) teaching the next generation of keiki hula dancers today. Community support like this fundraising effort sponsored by Hawaiian Bros is essential to forward planning into the next 50 years. “Mahalo nui!” (“Thank you very much!”) to all of our fans of Hawaiian culture no matter where you are!”

To help amplify the impact, Hawaiian Bros is donating public relations support to share Keiki Hula’s story and raise awareness of how vital cultural education is to preserving the heritage of Hawaii. Guests will see reminders about the fundraiser through in-store signage, digital screens, drive-thru prompts, social media posts, and email messages encouraging participation.

Unlike past campaigns, which featured limited-edition merchandise, this year’s effort focuses exclusively on making it as simple as possible for guests to contribute directly to Keiki Hula’s work. By streamlining the process, Hawaiian Bros hopes to help more supporters come together in backing this important cause.
