Friday Snack: Beef Roast with Dumplings

1 boneless beef rump roast
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
Flour
Oil
3 tablespoons Lipton onion soup mix
2 slices bacon, uncooked
2 cans beef broth
2 cans biscuits

Salt, generously pepper, sprinkle with garlic powder and completely flour all sides of roast. Brown all sides in a little oil in skillet. Place in crockpot. Sprinkle top with onion soup mix, then lay bacon over top of rost to keep it moist as it cooks. Cook on low for approximately 8 to 10 hours.

Remove roast from crockpot. Pour broth into pan and bring to low boil. Tear biscuits into small pieces, (about five or six pieces per biscuit) and drop into bubbling broth. Turn heat to low, cover pan and let finish cooking, about five minutes.
